Maram al-Massri

MARAM al-MASSRI was born in Latakia, Syria, to a family of artists. She studied at the University of Damascus and currently lives in Paris. Her poems have been translated into French, Corsican, English and Spanish, and she has received the Adonis Prize at the Literary Forum in Lebanon. She has read at international festivals in Argentina, Ireland, France, Italy and Tunis. Maram was among a group of poets who is returning to San Francisco after reading at the first San Francisco International Poetry Festival in 2007.
